Yellagonga Regional Park is located between Wanneroo and  Joondalup 25 kilometres to the north of Perth.

Heritage buildings within the park are located at Perry's Paddock, Cockman House and Luisini Winery. Plus, several recreation areas such as Neil Hawkins Park, Scenic Drive Park and Picnic Cove are located within the park. Paved walkways run through the park and by walking along road verges in some locations it is possible to walk all the way around around Lake Joondalup, which is the largest lake in the park.

The park is named after Yellagonga, a former leader of the local Mooro people. It was formally established in 1989 and covers 1,400 hectares, including 550 hectares of wetlands – Lake Joondalup, Beenup Swamp, Walluburnup Swamp, and Lake Goollelal are each contained within the park

217 species of flora, including 103 introduced species have been identified within the park. Plus, over 120 bird species have been sighted, with 18 species using the park for breeding grounds. Some of the species are migratory birds originating from overseas. Carnaby's Cockatoos, Australasian Bittern and Peregrine Falcon are among the protected species that have been identified in the park

Some areas of the park were formerly farmland and these are gradually being rehabilitated, in part by the Friends of Yellagonga Regional Park conservation group working in association with the Department of Environment and Conservation.
