Wungong is located in the City of Armadale, 32 kilometres south east of Perth.

The area has a local population of about 600 and covers 4.3 square kilometres.

It is a rural area located to the east of the South Western Highway and the Darling Scarp, and is about five kilometres south of the Armadale town centre.

A wildlife sanctuary called The Armadale Reptile Park was opened in Wungong during 1995. It has the largest reptile and amphibian display in Western Australia, plus has dingoes, flying foxes, farm animals marsupials and birds on display.
