Woodanilling is located 252 kilometres south south-east of Perth on the Great Southern Highway.
It is the service centre for a sheep grazing and grain growing area and was named after a spring in the Boyerine Creek, located 1 km south of the town.
The town and local area has a resident population of about 400, a general store, a tavern, post office, caravan park, church, primary school, a roadhouse, restaurant, a golf course, a number of sporting clubs. Plus, a range of tradespeople and contractors provide services within the area.
