Viveash is located in the City of Swan, 16 kilometres north east of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 800 and covers 1.5 square kilometres. Development in the area commenced in 1967.

The Swan River with extensive foreshore reserves forms the northern and western boundary of the area, while the Great Northern Highway forms the eastern boundary, and Reg Bond Reserve forms the southern boundary. Across the river, the Western and northern banks are covered with wineries.

The Swan Districts Hospital and La Salle College are located within the area and an industrial site to the north contains a brickworks.
