Three Springs is located 313 kilometres north of Perth on the Midlands Road.
The area has a resident population of about 600 and the town is located at an elevation of 257 metres above sea level.
Economic activities within the area include sheep, pig and cattle rearing, plus wheat and cereal crop growing, wildflower farming and mining.
The town contains grain silos, a railway line, a hotel with motel style accommodation, a caravan park, and a typical wheatbelt main street which provides services to farmers in the district. Plus, a doctor and dentist, educational facilities and a range of sporting and recreational activities are available in the town. Facilities include ovals, swimming pool, golf course, bowling green, tennis courts and clay pigeon shooting.
From late July through to September, displays of wildflowers can be viewed in the countryside surrounding the town.
The largest talc mine in the southern hemisphere is operated near the townsite, and produces in excess of 240,000 tonnes of talc per year.
