Tammin is located 184 kilometres east of Perth, on the Great Eastern
Highway midway between Cunderdin and Kellerberrin in the central
agricultural region.
It is a classic wheatbelt town with a resident population of about 500, huge wheat silos and one street with a railway line located on one side of the road and the local hotel and a line of shops located on the opposite side. Plus a 24 hour service station and supermarket are located within the town.
Also, a 500 seat amphitheatre is located within the town and artistic and cultural performances are held throughout the year.
The town has a hotel and restaurant, plus a roadhouse and it is also a stop on the Prospector and Avonlink rural train service.
Goldfields Water Pipeline runs past the town, and the average rainfall in the area is 370mm, which mainly falls during winter.
