Swan View is located in the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring, 25 kilometres north east of Perth.
The area has a resident population of about 8000 and covers 7.3 square kilometres.
It is bounded by the Avonlink/Prospector railway line to the west, the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail to the south, John Forrest National Park to the east, and Blackadder Creek, O'Connor Road and Murchison Drive to the north.
