Spearwood is located in the City of Cockburn, 18 kilometres south of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 9000 and covers 7.5 square kilometres.

It is located 2 kilometres from the Indian Ocean and the Googee Marina to the west. Stock Road forms the eastern boundary and Rockingham Road cuts through the area from north to south.

Several public parks, plus a large bushland reserve Manning Park are located within the area, along with extensive ocean foreshore reserves nearby to the west.
