Samson is located in the City of Fremantle, 14 kilometres south west of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 2000 and covers 1.1 square kilometres.

It is located about 5 kilometres to the east of Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle. The area contains the largest bushland reserve in the local area, plus several other public parks.

South Street forms the northern border, and Stock Road the western border of the area. The O'Connor industrial area is located immediately to the north of South Street.
