Perth Australia, is the capital of Western
Australia located on
the north bank of the Swan River.
The city is the social, financial, economic and political centre of the state and is the largest city. Some 1.3 million people live in the Perth metropolitan region, which stretches along the coast from Yanchep in the north to Rockingham in the south.
Perth WA is very popular with tourists and an ideal holiday destination in which to experience affordable family vacations.
The central business district is centred around St Georges Terrace, which runs from east to west through the city, parallel to the Swan River. The world famous Kings Park is located to the west of the CBD and overlooks the city and the river from the heights of Mount Eliza. Visiting Kings Park is a very popular activity with tourists.
To the north of the CBD Northbridge is a major entertainment area in which many restaurants, cafes and popular pubs are available.
East Perth has during recent years changes significantly and now has many fine new apartment buildings, cafes, restaurants and a marina.
The City of South Perth is located on the south bank of the Swan River. During the day and into the evening, passenger ferries ply the waters between Mends Street jetty, Coode Street jetty in South Perth and the Barracks Street jetty on the foreshore of the Perth central business district.
