Nyabing is located 320 kilometres south east of Perth, at the mouth of
the Irwin River.
The town is well known for its quality merino sheep and fine pastures. Grain and canola growing plus cattle grazing are also part of the local agricultural economy. A wool clip of almost two million kilos is produced from 414,000 sheep, and 141,000 tonnes of wheat and 55,000 tonnes of barley are produced. Farmers in the area also raise some 11,000 pigs anually.
Typical enormous grain silos are found within the town, along with a primary school, shops, parks, the town hall and many of the other features and services usually found in wheatbelt towns.
The resident population is about 300, and the town is located at an elevation of 325 metres above sea level.
