Nornalup is located 432 kilometres south south-east of Perth in the Great Southern region on the banks of the Frankland River along the South Coast Highway.

The settlement is located within the National Park, which is famous for its towering Karri and Tingle trees. A range of accommodation is available within the small settlement.

A rail trail runs along former rail tracks in the area, and the Nornalup Teahouse Restaurant is located nearby on the South Coast Highway.

Walpole-Nornalup National Park contains a rugged coastline, peaceful inlets, rivers and forests of karri trees. The coast can be accessed at a location known as Conspicuous Cliff, which is located within the National Park, and the Bibbulmun Track winds through the park to the coast.

The National Park extends all the way to the coast, providing a range of environments ranging from forest to coastal heathland. Swamp paperbark and a red flowering gum which is endemic to the region are both found in the park.

About 5,000 hectares of bushland have been set aside for bushwalkers and designated camp sites are located throughout the park.

The Valley of the Giants is located nearby and contains giant red tingle trees with trunks of up to 20 metres in circumference. Magnificent views of the forest canopy can be obtained from the treetop walkway which runs between the trees above the valley.
