Narembeen is located 286 kilometres east of Perth at an elevation of 280 metres above sea level..

The area has a resident population of about 450 and the major industries in the area are growing cereal crops and raising cattle and sheep  and has a vibrant agribusiness sector.

The story behind the creation of the town is that a hotel was built there because the residents of a nearby town which no longer exists refused to allow the hotel to be built in their town. The two men who built the hotel, then sold off blocks of land surrounding the hotel, which is how the town came into existence.

Hotel, motel and caravan park accommodation and a cafe and roadhouse are available within the town. Plus, a high school and a commuity resource centre.
