Western Australia
Kings Park is located within the City of Perth, to the west of the central business district.

The area is a 4.06 square kilometre (1,003-acre) public park located on the western edge of the Perth central business district. It is a combination of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland with two thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland.

Located on Mount Eliza, with panoramic views of the Swan River and the Darling Range to the east, the park overlooks the city, Perth Water and Melville Water and is home to more than 300 native plant varieties and over 80 bird species.

It became the first park to be designated for public use in Australia during 1872. It is the largest inner city park in the world and the most popular visitor destination in Western Australia and is visited by more than five million people each year.

In addition to tourist facilities, the park contains the State War Memorial, the Royal Kings Park Tennis club and a reservoir. The roads are lined with trees and individual plaques dedicated by family members to Western Australian service men and women who died in World War I and World War II.

The Kings Park Festival is held during September each year with Australia's largest wildflower show and exhibition.
