Kallaroo is located in the City of Joondalup, 26 kilometres north of Perth.
The area has a resident population of about 5200. Development of the area commenced during the early 1970s, although some apsrts of the area were not developed until the late 1980s and early 1990s.
It is an oceanside community, the northern border of which is Mullaloo Drive, Marmion Avenue foms the eastern border, Whitfords Avenue is the southern border, while Northshore Drive and the Indian Ocean form the western boundry. Dampier Avenue cuts through the area from north to south.
A number of public open space parks are located within the area and the oceanside reserves are extensive, with brilliant unspoiled beaches.
Whitfords City shopping centre is located to the south of Whitfords Avenue.
