Hacketts Gully is located in the Shire of Kalamunda, 27 kilometres east of Perth.
It is a location along the road to Mundaring Weir. No settlement exists in the area, which contains and is surrounded by the native forests that form the Beelu National Park.
The small community of Paulls Valley is located about 2 kilometres to the west along Mundaring Weir Road. The weir, which is at the north western end of CY O'Connor Lake is located to the north east about 4 kilometres further along the road.
