The area has a resident population of about 1400, and covers an area of about 5 square kilometres. Forrestdale Lake is located within the area and is part of a nature reserve. It usually fills with water during winter and dries out during summer.
It is a semi rural area bordered to the east by the Tonkin Highway. Jandakot Regional Park is located to the west, and Armadale Golf Club is located to the south east of the area.
