Ellenbrook is located in the City of Swan, 21 kilometres north east of Perth.

The area has a rapidly growing resident population of about 20,000 (2011), and is expected to eventually develop into a satellite city with a resident population of about 80,000.

Development of the area commenced in 1994 and is proceeding rapidly, With entire new communities, town centres and recreational facilities being developed.

It is connected to the coastal areas to the west by Gnangara Road, while West Swan Road and the Reid and Tonkin Highways connect the area to Guildford and Midland to the south.

Over 300 hectares of land located immediately to the south of the area have been retained for conservation, and are now protected under the metropolitan Bush Forever strategy. Also, the Gnangara, Moore River State Forest commences its southern border to the immediate west of the area, and continues north for many kilometres.

The local Ellenbrook Lions Club consists of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, including supporting people with a disability, plus community support and fundraising for worthwhile causes.
