Eglinton is located on the coast within the City of Wanneroo 44 kilometres north of Perth,.
It is a proposed new development area which presently (August 2011) contains no houses, except for some farmhouses located inland close to Indian Ocean Drive/Wanneroo Road.
Marmion Avenue passes through the area in a north south direction. To the south along Marmion Avenue is the rapidly developing Shorehaven estate at Alkimos, while the coastal community of Yanchep is located about 4 kilometres to the north.
The Indian Ocean coast, with its fantastic beaches can be accessed by travelling west along Pipidinny Road and then crossing the huge sand dunes. the beach is located about one kilometre from the Eglinton section of Marmion Avenue. The Marmion Avenue extension to Yanchep was opened in late 2008.
