East Perth is located 2 kilometres east of Perth, in the City of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 5,800 and covers an area of 2 square kilometres.

The Swan River forms the eastern and southern boundarys of the area, while the Graham farmer Freeway is located to the north and Victoria Avenue is to the west.

Sporting attractions within the area include the WACA cricket ground and Gloucester Park trotting ground.

Initial development of the area occured during early colonial times and continued through the 19th and 20th centuries, although significant urban renewal occured in the area commencing in approximately 2002, with the old industrial and residential properties being removed to be replaced by upmarket high density multi-storey apartments.
