Dwellingup is a town located within a timber and fruit growing area of the Darling Range 97 kilometres east-south-east of Perth.

The town is close to the largest bauxite mine in the world at Huntly, which supplies ore to the Pinjarra and Kwinana aluminium refineries, and has a resident population of about 350.

The Nanga Bush Camp located in the area is a popular camp for senior primary schools and high schools. Some of the activities held at the camp include water rafting, night watching, swimming and bush tracks etc.

The Murray River offers excellent canoeing opportunities, and tour operators located within the town offer a number of canoeing tours along various stretches of the river.

The Hotham Valley Tourist Railway runs from May until October. It takes visitors on a journey through lush farmlands over pretty brooks and up onto the Darling Scarp then on through the forests to Pinjarra.
