The area has a resident population of about 360, and a median elevation of approximately 33 metres above sea level.
The town is located a leisurely 2 - hour drive south of Perth. The Preston River and Crooked Brook meander through the area.
The Forest Path Top Trail at Crooked Brook is a ideal for those with limited access, and leads to an area of natural bushland within the town. The 600 metre wheelchair accessible walk path provides plenty of bench seats, plus features interpretive signage describing the local flora and fauna. The path is a simple, well designed concrete loop trail, which is accessible in the wet and circumnavigates Crooked Brook. Picnic tables located beneath a covered shelter are accessible for wheel chairs. Plus, gas barbeques and a wheelchair accessible drop toilet are provided
The Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival is a local volunteer run event held within the townsite each year on a Saturday during mid October. A wide range of entertainment and family orientated activities take place at the event. Visit the Bull and Barrel Festival website for more information.
Enjoy fun for all ages during the day, and then in the evening enjoy the Festival's spectacular finale – the lighting of the fire sculpture, and hear the crowd roar as the ‘bull’ burns!
