Crawley is located in the City of Subiaco, 5 kilometres south west of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 3000, and covers 3 square kilometres. Development initially commenced during the 1890s, and it is a well established location containing many fine homes.

The University of Western Australia main campus is located along Hackett Drive. The university is noted for its many fine buildings, including the iconic Winthrop Hall.

The Royal Perth Yacht Club is located nearby at Pelican Point, and the reserves along Matilda Bay and the Swan River foreshores are popular with locals and visitors for walking, cycling  and relaxing on warm summer evenings. Several fine restaurants and other eateries are located nearby along the foreshore.

The area is bordered by Mounts Bay Road and Stirling Highway to the north, by Matilda Bay and the Swan River to the west and south. Nedlands and Dalkeith are located to the west, with Nedlands Golf Club nearby. Kings Park is also located nearby to the north east.
