north of Perth.
It is an agricultural area located about 100 kilometres east of the Indian Ocean at Leeman, and has an average elevation of 272 metres above sea level.
The townsite was gazetted in 1893, the the name being derived from the Aboriginal name of a nearby spring first recorded in 1872.
