Coolgardie is a small goldfields town located 558 kilometres east of Perth.

It is known as a tourist destination and a ghost town. It was however, after Perth and Fremantle once the third largest town in the state.

Historical markers have been placed around the town to inform visitors of significant locations, and several active museums are available, including the visitor's centre, the old railway station, and the National Trust-owned Warden Finnerty's Residence.
