Connolly is located in the City of Joondalup, 26 kilometres north of Perth.
The area has a resident population of about 3,700 and covers an area of 2.8 square kilometres. Development of the area as a golf course estate commenced during the late 1980s.
Almost half of the area is occupied by Connolly Golf Course and Joondalup resort. Most of the remaining land is occupied by residential housing and a small shopping centre, plus a primary school and three public parks.
The eastern border of the area is formed by the Mitchel Freeway, the southern border is Hodges Drive, The western border is Marmion Avenue and the northern border is Shenton Avenue.
