Churchlands is located in the City of Stirling, 10 kilometres north of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 2500. It is an upmarket area, containing many large and opulent homes.

Herdsman Lake is located on the eastern border of the area, and many species of birds, amphibians and freshwater fish inhabit the lake. The areas and pathways around the lake are popular for recreational activities such as walking and cycling.

Lake Monger is located to the east and Wembley Golf Complex is located to the west of the area. Scarborough Beach Road is to the north and runs eas-west surrounded by a large commercial area, while Floreat and Wembley residential areas are located to the south.
