Carramar is located in the City of Wanneroo, 29 kilometres north of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 5000 and covers an area of 6.7 square kilometres. It is bordered by Flynn Drive to the north, Pinjar Road to the east, Joondalup Drive to the south, and Wanneroo Road to the west.

A park and sporting oval are located on the southern border at Millendon Street between Houghton and Cheriton Drives, with a local community centre, shopping centre and cricket club nearby.

Carramar Golf Course is located to the north of the main community, along with a substantial number of large homestead blocks and some market gardens.
