Broome is located 2200 kilometres north of Perth in the Kimberley region of the state. Cable Beach, which is situated 7 km from the town centre along a good bitumen road is a Western Australian icon.

The 22.5 kilometre beach has beautiful white sand which is washed clean daily by tides. The difference between low tide and high tide can be over nine metres. The water is turquoise and crystal clear, with gentle swells that roll onto the almost perfectly flat beach. Camel rides operate along the beach at sunset and provide opportunities for fantastic photo shoots.

Broome has grown immensely in popularity during recent years, with increasing numbers of visitors flying into the town from Perth and from other capital city's around Australia. The town is still small by international and even by Australian standards and its location is remote by anyone's standards.
