Brigadoon is located in the City of Swan, 25 kilometres north west of Perth.
This beautiful and rugged area is located on the edge of the Darling Scarp adjacent to the entrance to the Avon Valley, and through which the Avon River flows. Bells Rapids is a popular viewing location for the annual Avon Descent whitewater race.
It is a rural area dotted with hobby farms. A number of parks and reserves adjoin the riverbank and provide pleasant walks and picnick spots.
The area has a resident population of about 600. The State Equestrian Centre is located in the area on 164 acres of prime sporting land positioned on the banks of the river. The railway line to Toodyay and beyond passes through the area, although no railway station exists on this part of the line.
