Boyanup is located 195 km south of Perth and 18 km south-east of Bunbury, on the South Western Highway and on the banks of the Preston River.

It is a thriving, picturesque country town in which you can find  vintage trains and farm machinery, plus sample local fresh produce, or purchase local arts and crafts at the Boyanup Farmers Market.

Accommodation within the town includes resort style, plus bed and breakfast services.

Located on Thomas Street is Boyanup Primary School, which is a Level 4 Public School with an enrolment of just over 100 students from kindergarden to Year 7.

5.1 kilometres to the north-west of the town is the The Yoganup North Mine which extracts and processes mineral sands.
