Beverley is an agricultural town located within the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 133 kilometres south-east of Perth between York and Brookton on the Great Southern Highway and adjacent to the Great Southern railway line.

The town is located on the banks of the Avon River. Extensive sporting facilities are available within the town, including an oval, tennis and basketball courts a swimming pool and a bowling green. The town also has a Community Resource Centre which is located at 132 Vincent Street, and provides a range of services to locals and visitors.

The town possesses a history of involvement with aviation and boasts a gliding club and flying school. Also, a major training airstrip for Caribou aircraft operated by the Australian Armed Forces is located near the town.

The Beverley Show is an annual community event, organised and operated by the Beverley Agricultural Society and held in mid August.

Beverley District High School was initially built in 1950 and extended in 1962. More recently the school has been again extended to include a new library and combined Art/Craft and Music room. The school is located in extensive grounds, which include a large oval with cricket nets tennis courts, netball courts and a basketball court.

Approximately 195 students ranging from year K through to year 10 are enrolled at the school. 30% of students originate from farming families and 26% of local residents have only lived in Beverley for 5 years or less. In 2010 the school employed Nineteen teaching staff and fourteen support staff.
