Bentley is located partly in the City of Canning and partly in the Town of Victoria Park, 8 kilometres south of Perth.
The area has a resident population of about 8,500 and covers an area of 5.5 square kilometres. Technology Park and the main campus of Curtin University of Technology are located within the area.
It is an established area with schools, restaurants, a shopping centre, a hospital and extensive retirement housing. Although predominantly a residential suburb, extensive retail and light-industrial components are also located in the eastern areas close to Albany Highway.
Shepperton Road and Albany Highway form the eastern bounry, while Canning Highway forms the eastern boundry. Collier Park Golf Course and several public open space reserves are also located within the area, and the Canning River is located nearby to the south.
