Bassendean



The town of Bassendean is located 12 kilometres north east of Perth on the Swan River.

The area is 11 square kilometres in size and has a resident population of about 9000. In addition to housing, parks and recreational areas, light industry and commercial areas are also located nearby. The Tonkin Highway is located to the west where it runs north-south.

The town is home to the Western Australian Rail Transport Museum, which has a collection of Steam and Diesel Locomotives, most of which have been restored to operating condition. The West Australian Model Rail association is also housed within the complex. Visit the Railway Museum website.
