Armadale
The City of Armadale is located 28 kilometres south east of Perth, at the junction of the South Western Highway and Albany Highway which connect Perth with the South West and with the Great Southern region of the state.
The city is also the terminus of the Armadale railway line, which is one of five major railway lines servicing Perth.
The area is experiencing a high rate of growth, with the local population expected to increase from 55,000 in 2011 to 85,000 by 2021. The recent extension of the Tonkin Highway and the proposed development of an international rowing facility and white water park at Champion Lakes are catalysts for future growth.
The city covers an area of 545 square kilometres, and includes the suburbs of Armadale, Bedfordale, Brookdale, Camillo, Champion Lakes, Forrestdale, Haynes, Hilbert, Kelmscott, Karragullen, Mt Nasura, Mt Richon, Roleystone, Seville Grove and Wungong.
Accommodation in the area includes several bed and breakfast properties, plus caravan parks and a motel.
The Armadale Reptile Centre located along the South Western Highway, houses a range of native reptiles, with over 50 other species of wildlife also on display.
