Ardross
Ardross is located 9 kilometres south of Perth, on a peninsula in the Swan River.
The Canning Highway passes through the community, and the Swan River is located on the northern boundary, with Tompkins Park on the foreshore.
The Wireless Hill telecommunications museum and lookout is located to the east of the community, where excellent river vistas can be viewed from the lookout. The hill is the site of the first communications radio station in Western Australia, and it is now a refuge from the suburbs and an oasis of wildflowers and wildlife that is well worth a visit. Extensive planting of mostly native species in the park has created a diverse collection of 20,000 - 30,000 plants. During winter and spring, visitors to the park will even find orchids growing amongst the Geradlton wax, wattles, grevilleas, callistemon and kangaroo paws.
