Applecross
Applecross is located in the City of Melville, 7 kilometres south of Perth on the Canning River.
The area has a resident population of about 6300 and covers 3.1 square kilometres.
The Canning Highway runs through Applecross and the Canning bridge crosses the river to the east. Two foreshore reserves are located in the area, Jeff Joseph Reserve faces onto the Swan River, and Point Heathcote Reserve where the South of Perth Yatch Club is located, faces onto both the Swan and Canning rivers.
Architectually designed residences with manicured gardens line the roads facing onto the foreshore and the streets leading back from the river.
A distinguishing feature of the area are the jacaranda trees which line some of the streets and flower in late spring. The local annual Jacaranda Festival is organised by the Rotary Club of Applecross and held during late November. Visit the Jacaranda Festival website to learn more.
